UKAF Equestrian Championships

UKAF Equestrian Championships held at Bury Farm Equestrian Center 5-6 April 2022. This is the first military equestrian fixture (outside of horse racing) with the disciplines of show jumping, dressage and military skill at arms (tent pegging). In addition, this was the first leg (out of four legs) of the Loriners Plate competition which is tri-service and points accumulate. The Army team are the current title defenders. This fixture also had the 1.05 m and 1.10 m show jumping (services) qualifiers for the London International horse show. We had all levels of riders that covered all cap badges. The mounted regiments (HCMR/HCav/KTRHA) contributed about just under half of the 110 Army riders. And of course we had RN, RAF and the Emergency services.

Notable results:

  • Army riders came in 5/6 top 3 places across both London int’l horse show qualifying rounds
  • Final Loriners scoring: 66.17%, 65.99%, 65.81% (RN, Army, RAF), so very tight scoring across the board (avg across the 4 riders)
  • Capt Zoe Andrew (R Signals): 1st in both London Int’l Horse Show qualifying rounds.
  • Army riders won 10 showjumping classes out of 11 classes on both days.
